“The selection of State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan has been done through an open and transparent bidding process,” Minister of State for Health Saira Afzal said at a proposal evaluation meeting.
Three groups were shortlisted for the health insurance programme, namely, State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, Jubilee General Insurance and a consortium formed by Adamjee Insurance and Alfalah Insurance.
It is estimated that as many as 3.1 million families (19 million individuals) living in 23 districts below the poverty line will be provided access to free indoor healthcare services under the programme.
