Working life nowadays is not easy in the life insurance industry in Asia, with lots of challenges from economies to regulation, from distribution to operation, from disruptive innovation to talent retention.
At the start of 2016, all insurance companies were busy with rolling out new initiatives and so April is a good time for industry participants to come together for an event to exchange ideas and push the market further to the next level.
The Actuarial Society of Hong Kong is hosting the worldwide Conference 2016 International Actuarial Association (IAA) Life Section Colloquium on 25-27 April 2016 at Conrad Hotel, Hong Kong. The IAA Life Section Colloquium is a signature event of the IAA and this attracts life insurance professionals and actuaries from all over the world. Hong Kong is lucky to be the host for 2016.
The annual colloquium is a forum to give senior insurance professionals an opportunity to come together to discuss today’s capital regimes, digital and product innovation, risk based economic management, and the actuarial profession.
Becoming part of “Insurance Evolution”
The theme for the 2016 Life Section Colloquium is “Insurance Evolution: Change is the Only Constant”. It recognises that the life insurance industry continues to evolve to meet the needs of its customers, and that the role of actuaries must keep pace. Challenges include embracing today’s regulatory demands, adapting to changes in socio-demographic behaviour and technology and other as yet unknown externalities.
International regulators, industry leaders and academics are lined up and charged to share their in-depth perspectives on this year’s Life Section Colloquium theme. A rich programme packed with the latest actuarial research coupled with useful qualitative information in the plenary and scientific sessions is outlined at www.actuaries.org/hongkong2016/
