Source: Asia Insurance Review | Jun 2016

Lloyd’s and PARIMA (the Pan-Asia Risk and Insurance Management Association) are partnering to offer the Lloyd’s-PARIMA Professional Development Programme – a series of two-day programmes created specifically to respond to the needs of risk managers in the Asia Pacific region.

Designed for the challenges faced by corporate risk managers and insurance buyers, the programme provides participants with an overview of the Lloyd’s insurance market and how it works; insight into the latest emerging risks; an understanding of the underwriting process and how a risk is accurately priced; an understanding of international insurance regulations and their impact on insurance programmes; and also how claims are handled and efficiently processed.

Mr Kent Chaplin, Lloyd’s Head of Asia Pacific who jointly launched the partnership with PARIMA Chairman Franck Baron at PARIMA’s conference in Kuala Lumpur in May, said: “Lloyd’s is delighted to be able to share its risk expertise and experience accumulated over generations. We provide first-class educational and networking programmes across the world and through this partnership with PARIMA we aim to support the risk management community in the Asia Pacific region.”

Mr Baron said: “This dedicated programme for risk managers is delivered by the insurance and risk industry’s highly-respected experts. The programme meets our aim of strengthening and enhancing the culture of risk management by creating opportunities for education and dialogue within the community.”

Lloyd’s and PARIMA invite expressions of interest for the Lloyd’s-PARIMA Professional Development Programme, which will close on 30 June. The programme will be held in Singapore (August), Malaysia and Hong Kong (November). Dates will be confirmed according to interest.

Those interested are invited to apply for the programme at www.parima.org/lloyds-parimaprogramme.
