Hong Kong: BHSI secures one of Asia's largest insurance deals

BHSI has reportedly written 100% of the Employees’ Compensation insurance placement for the third runway construction project at Hong Kong International Airport with a reported premium of over HKD$1.3 billion (US$167.5 million). 
Sources close to the transaction reported that other bidders included QBE, AIG and Allied World.
 
   BHSI entered the Asian market in 2014 and is part of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate. BHSI’s operations in Asia are led by Mr Marc Breuil, are AA+ rated by S&P and currently have over 60 staff across Asia.
BHSI had declined to comment on the placement.
