Well over 80 members and friends of the Insurance Law Association Singapore (ILAS) turned up for their inaugural “Speed Networking” evening last Nov. It was held at the function room of Penny Black, a well-known Victorian bar located along Boat Quay in Singapore.
Appreciating the good turn-out and thanking the sponsors, ILAS President Pooba Mahalingam announced that an awareness drive has been initiated to increase membership.
Sponsors of this event were - Ajax loss adjusters and two legal firms namely: Khattar Wong and Tan Kok Quan and Partners. Attendees were seen mingling and getting to know one another; finger food and drinks at the bar was available to all present. A lucky draw was held before the end of the eventful evening.
ILAS hopes to be more visible
Besides the regular evening talks and seminars, ILAS hopes to be more visible as one of the insurance associations in the Singapore market.
ILAS is also noted to be a chapter of the international organisation - AIDA known in full as “Association Internationale de Droit Des Assurances”.
The objective of ILAS is to improve the level of knowledge in the insurance/law area, learn from each other’s experience and expertise, and deal with and address the issues that arise in the context of the insurance industry and legal framework in Singapore.
