Taiwan: Blockchain pilot project simplifies insurance process for customers

The Financial Supervisory Commission has approved a pilot project involving a joint blockchain platform by a group of 11 life and P&C insurers which seeks to make insurance services more convenient for customers. The project will start on 1 July and last for six months according to a report from local publication Liberty Times. 
 
Through the platform, policyholders can file claims or make changes to their personal data for policies purchased from multiple insurers in a single submission instead of having to contact each individual insurer.
 
Insurers involved in this project include Nanshan Life, Cathay Life and Fubon Property Insurance. A
