Japan:Kumamoto quake losses estimated at up to US$3.5 bln

The economic property damage for the two earthquakes which struck Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture last week is estimated to be between US$2.5 billion and $3.5 billion, according to RMS, a global catastrophe risk management firm. A separate estimate given by AIR Worldwide places insured property losses at as much as $2.9 billion.
