Australia:Insurers ask regulator to show how more data transparency enhances competition

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has expressed its concerns that a bid by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) to make some general insurance and life insurance data more transparent would lead to a weakening of competition and greater concentration of market power in certain product classes.
