Above-average annual insured natural catastrophe losses in 2020

Insured losses from major natural catastrophes in 2020 were around $78bn, the fourth largest total since 2011 and about 17% higher than the ten-year average of $66.5bn according to Summary of Natural Catastrophe Events 2020 published by Willis Re in February 2021.
