The IRDAI has set out guidelines for insurers to invest in debt securities issued by infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs) and real estate investment trusts (Reits). The move is expected to improve the overall yield of the portfolios held by insurers, while providing more long-term funding for infrastructure and real estate.
