VNB declines at major listed insurers as agency forces shrink

China's five major A-share listed insurance companies posted a combined net profit of around CNY143bn ($22bn) attributable to their parent for the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 7.03%. In contrast, their value of new business (VNB) showed a year-on-year decline of 15.04% to CNY74bn for the same period.
