Japan:16 March quake estimated to have caused insured property loss of at least US$2bn

Insured losses to properties from the 16 March M7.3 earthquake that struck offshore the island of Honshu, Japan, will be between JPY240bn ($2bn) and JPY490bn, according to Verisk Extreme Event Solutions (formerly AIR Worldwide). Of that, between JPY50bn and JPY100bn can be attributed to commercial and industrial properties.
