The Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka has mandated the Chartered Insurance Institute's Advanced Diploma (ACII) as a minimum qualification to be held by at least one employee of any registered insurance brokerage.
The move came after representations made by the Sri Lanka Insurance Brokers’ Association, which had requested amendments to a former rule concerning mandatory regulations for brokers’ qualifications.
CII Middle East, Central & South Asia regional director Gaenor Jones said that this mandating will go a long way to boosting professional standards across the sector in Sri Lanka.
