Effective July 1, 2025, the 2024 Law on Social Insurance and the amended 2024 Law on Health Insurance officially came into force.
In preparation for this significant transition, Ho Chi Minh City Social Security has deployed staff to receive applications at commune-level public administration service centres and established task forces at local offices to handle submissions, provide guidance and address challenges stemming from organisational restructuring and the adoption of the two-tier local government model.
To enhance efficiency and service quality, the agency is expanding the use of information technology—particularly in maintaining Level 4 online public services and facilitating electronic transactions with employers.
Additionally, Ho Chi Minh City Social Security is intensifying communication and public guidance efforts, especially in the initial phase of policy implementation, to build public trust and understanding. Coordination with key stakeholders—including healthcare facilities, the postal service and local authorities—is also being reinforced to ensure the seamless rollout of the updated social and health insurance policies.
Efforts are also underway to improve data integration and information sharing with relevant ministries and sectors, aiming to reduce paperwork and streamline procedures for citizens.
At the same time, the agency is maintaining oversight through monitoring systems, evaluating service quality, and collecting public feedback to enhance processes and increase satisfaction among policyholders and beneficiaries.
