MSIG Asia has announced leadership changes, effective 1 April 2026.
Mr Clemens Philippi, currently CEO of MSIG Asia and an Executive Officer of MSI Japan, will be appointed an Executive Officer of MS&AD Insurance Group and Chief Strategy Officer for the Group’s International Business.
He will jointly lead the Group’s international strategy with Mr Ema Keisuke, currently General Manager of the International Business Department at MSI Japan, as Co-Chief Strategy Officers. They will focus on enhancing strategic integration and collaboration within MS&AD’s international operations.
Until further notice, Mr Philippi will also retain his responsibilities as CEO of MSIG Asia.
Mr Tanaka Norihiro, currently Executive Officer and Head of Planning at MSIG Asia, will take on the role of Chairman of MSIG Asia.
Mr Tanaka brings 30 years of experience within the Group, including senior leadership positions as General Manager at MS Amlin Underwriting and Head of Liability and Cyber at MSI Japan, before joining MSIG Asia.
His appointment will ensure continuity and strategic consistency at the Board level. He will also be appointed an Executive Officer of MS&AD.
Mr Tanaka succeeds Mr Adachi Tetsuya. Mr Adachi will conclude his tenure with the Group.
