QBE Insurance Group has announced that Ms Sue Houghton, CEO of Australia Pacific, has advised the company of her intention to retire at the end of 2026.
This decision comes following more than five years with QBE, and a distinguished career spanning more than 35 years in the financial services industry.
Since joining QBE, Ms Houghton has played a significant role in strengthening the business, driving improvements in performance, capability, culture and customer outcomes. She also led a substantial modernisation agenda and helped position the business for long-term success in a rapidly evolving market environment.
To ensure an orderly transition and leadership continuity, Ms Houghton will remain in her role in the meantime, and continue to lead the business while QBE undertakes a search for her successor.
