Short-duration, high-intensity rainfall events are expected to intensify across Southeast Asia in both frequency and severity amid a warming climate, putting pressure on insurers. This is according to a new study by commercial property insurer FM and the Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
