APAC has become what he described as "the engine room for global aviation industry growth and aerospace".
In fact, according to Gallagher Singapore, CEO, Specialty Asia and Aerospace APAC, Adam Sullivan, speaking at Gallagher Specialty’s 2026 edition of Let’s Fly conference, APAC “is not simply participating in aviation growth worldwide; it is driving with demand for almost half the world’s new aircraft expected to come from the region over the next two decades”.
“At the same time, it is expected that the region will experience some of the fastest-growing passenger traffic in the world, driven ostensibly by an expanding middle class, rising disposable income, infrastructure investment and increased connectivity,” said Mr Sullivan.
“With nearly 20,000 new aircraft expected to enter service over the next 20 years, APAC represents one of the most significant long-term opportunities for aviation investors, operators and insurers.”
Intersecting, interconnected risks
As Mr Sullivan put it, APAC “is not simply another geographical market”. Rather, he called it “one of the most strategically important growth regions in our business”.
But it also means clients face challenges ranging from aviation, aerospace and energy, all the way to property, construction, cyber or financial reliance, alongside other specialty lines of business, he added.
“Clients are increasingly faced by interconnected, rather than isolated risks,” said Mr Sullivan.
“And sometimes they are where multiple jurisdictions, supply chains, cyber exposure, geopolitical uncertainty, climate resilience, infrastructure development and capital markets all intersect.”
Gallagher Specialty’s 2026 edition of the Let’s Fly conference, with the theme ‘Redefining Horizons: Innovation. Collaboration. Future preparedness.’, was held in Singapore on 2 September 2026.
