APAC:Marsh Re announces appointments

| 14 Sep 2026

Marsh Re has announced the appointments of Mr James Beedle to its Pacific board of directors, subject to regulatory approval, and Mr Justin Ward as CEO of APAC.

Mr Beedle, one of APAC’s foremost (re)insurance industry leaders, brings more than 36 years of experience in the reinsurance industry to Marsh Re, both as a broker and underwriter.

In his new role, Mr Ward leads and manages Marsh Re’s broking organisation in the Pacific. He is also further developing Marsh Re’s business strategy, addressing the evolving needs of clients across the Pacific, and works closely with Marsh’s regional leadership team.

Mr Ward joined Marsh Re, back then known as Guy Carpenter, in 2018. Since then, he has held senior broking positions in both Sydney and Singapore. Most recently, he served as Capital Advisory Leader for APAC from 2024, and will continue in this role until July 2027.

Prior to that, Mr Ward worked with Insurance Australia Group, National Australia Bank and AMP in senior (re)insurance, financial planning and risk advisory roles.

In Japan, Marsh Re has appointed Mr Andrew Hare as CEO of Japan, effective 1 January and subject to regulatory approval.

In his new role, Mr Hare will lead Marsh’s reinsurance team in Japan, with overall responsibility for client management, and set strategic initiatives to continue to grow the business in the country.

He joined Marsh in May 2026, and will continue to serve as Head of Growth for Marsh Re in APAC.

Mr Hare brings more than 20 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry, including 15 years in APAC. Before joining Marsh, he worked with Aon and FIS.

Mr Hare succeeds Mr Jeremy Fox, who will continue in his role as Chairman, APAC, Marsh Re.
