Willis Re has appointed Mr Neil Eckert as CEO Chief Executive Officer. He will join the company upon completion of his current contractual obligations.
In his new role, Mr Eckert will lead Willis Re’s global broking and advisory strategy, working closely with the firm’s leadership team to drive growth across all platforms.
Mr Eckert brings four decades of (re)insurance and capital markets experience to the role. He began his career as a reinsurance broker, joining Benfield Group plc in 1986. In 1995, he founded Benfield & Rea Investment Trust, which was relisted in 1999 as Brit Insurance Holdings plc.
He also co-founded Climate Exchange plc, and founded and chairs a series of businesses in the environmental and climate risk space, including Trading Emissions plc and Econergy plc.
More recently, Mr Eckert co-founded Conduit Holdings in 2020, and has led as CEO since 2025. He will join Willis Re from Conduit Re.
