Commercial property insurer FM will provide eligible clients with an estimated $855m through its resilience credit programme for the second consecutive year. The programme offers a 10% premium offset amid historically low losses and strong results. Made possible by FM's mutual ownership structure, the credit will apply to eligible policies renewing or reaching their anniversary between 1 January and 31 December 2027.
FM chairman and chief executive officer Malcolm Roberts said the enhanced credit reflects clients’ efforts to strengthen protection against risks. The insurer introduced the programme in 2022 to address climate-related risks, before expanding it in 2025 to cover operational risks and doubling the credit from 5% to 10%. The programme, alongside FM’s engineering expertise and data and analytics capabilities, is intended to help clients implement risk improvement recommendations covering climate hazards and operational exposures.
FM regional head of Southeast Asia Calvin Kuan said resilience was becoming a competitive advantage for Singapore businesses operating across complex regional supply chains. He added that organisations investing in risk reduction could limit the impact of disruptions on their operations. FM said clients had used the credit to further improve their risk management, prompting the insurer to maintain the 10% premium offset for another year.
