India:HDFC Life to acquire Exide Life in biggest insurance deal

Listed HDFC Life Insurance Company (HLIC), which is India's largest private-sector insurer, has announced the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Exide Life Insurance for a total consideration of INR66.87bn ($912m). This is the largest insurance deal in the country.
