The Insurance Regulator of Cambodia (IRC) has released the country's May 2025 market report for insurance.
The report showed a rise of 0.61% (May 2024: $27.9m, May 2025: 28m) in gross premiums collected for both general (-4.66%) and life (+4.26%) insurance.
Despite a fall in gross premiums, there has been an observed rise (+231%) in general insurance policies from 20,345 in May 2024 to 67,342 in May 2025. Life insurance policies rose 103.64% from 74,473 in May 2024 to 151,656 in May 2025, as well.
Gross claims incurred rose for general insurance, from $3.3m in in May 2024 to $4.7m in May 2025 (+44.73%). Over the same time period, gross claims incurred fell for life insurance, from $3m to $1.8m (-38.69%).
