Markel Insurance has appointed Mr Johnny Zhang as Senior Underwriter and Mr Jon Tam as Underwriter to its professional and financial risks (PFR) and cyber team in Greater China.
In his new role, Mr Zhang will focus on management liability and the development of new product initiatives, especially within AI-related segments.
Prior to his new role, Mr Zhang worked with Ping An and AIG Financial Lines. His deep knowledge of the Mainland Chinese market and product development expertise will be critical as Markel develops solutions for AI driven exposures and emerging risks.
In his new role, Mr Tam will look after the commercial professional indemnity (PI) book and will drive Markel’s geographical expansion into North Asia.
Mr Tam brings extensive experience in financial and professional lines, and is a specialist in PI management liability insurance. Prior to his new role, he worked with Starr, Marsh and Chubb, among others.
