Chairman of Bangladesh's Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA), Dr M Aslam Alam, has resigned from his post.
According to an article by news platform the Daily Sun, he cited personal reasons as the cause behind his resignation. Dr Alam also requested that his resignation be accepted and that necessary subsequent measures be taken.
Dr Alam formally communicated his resignation in a letter sent to the Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division on 2 March 2026, the article said.
