IMF economist suggests enhancing unemployment insurance to cushion blow from COVID-19


With COVID-19 leading to a significant economic fallout, International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief economist Gita Gopinath has called for substantial targeted fiscal, monetary and financial market measures to be implemented such as temporarily enhancing unemployment insurance for laid off workers.
