Life premiums will be severely impacted by pandemic

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic will have dire repercussions for the global life insurance industry, with a steep contraction in premiums being forecast in 2020 as rising unemployment and dwindling incomes put a drag on demand, and lockdown measures slow distribution, according to Swiss Re Institute's (SRI) latest Sigma report.
