Risk-management body juggles risk for its annual convention

| 18 Nov 2020

The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) has announced that its annual conference and exhibition, scheduled to be held in Chicago from 19 to 21 April 2021, will consist of some on-the-ground, socially-distanced activities, if feasible.

With the number of new COVID-19 cases on the rise in many parts of the world, restrictions remain for large-scale events. Many hotels and restaurants have yet to open their doors to customers in Chicago, said the organisation, and as such it has taken all these factors into consideration in planning for the convention.

RIMS said if these external factors persist, all educational, networking and solution-sharing components will be held virtually for the extended period of 19 to 29 April. Either way, registration for the event will open in January.

The society said it will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on its plans to ensure that RIMS 2021, however it is delivered, exceeds all expectations.
