A total of $2.5bn was raised by InsurTech firms in the third quarter of this year, up 63% from the previous quarter, with the number of deals also increasing by 41% to 104. And incumbent (re)insurers have shown an inclination to support more established InsurTechs this time round, as much of their focus goes towards ensuring that their core business operations functions smoothly amid the transition towards more remote work.
