Australia:Flood victims contribute to improving capacity for handling disasters

Respondents to a study carried out by Natural Hazards Research Australia (NHRA), on the impact of extreme floods in New South Wales and Queensland in 2022, have reported a range of challenges arising from the large-scale clean-up, insurance claims, the bureaucracy of financial support, temporary housing, and the longer-term struggles with 'community recovery fatigue'.
