At a public outreach seminar conducted in Takeo province, titled 'Procedures for Receiving and Resolving Insurance Complaints', Insurance Regulator of Cambodia (IRC) director general Bou Chanphirou highlighted the growth and strengthening of Cambodia's insurance sector, according to news platform the Khmer Times.
The event was hosted with the aim of strengthening public understanding of complaint resolution mechanisms and consumer protection in Cambodia’s insurance sector.
Mr Chanphirou touched on the progress the insurance sector made, with total premiums reaching $97.6m in 1Q2025, a 7.03% rise as compared to 1Q2024.
“The insurance sector has become a strong pillar in our national financial system, with more Cambodians recognising the benefits of insurance services,” said Mr Chanphirou said.
“We are committed to upholding transparency, trust and effective dispute resolution to protect consumers’ rights.”
He also noted procedures the IRC has implemented to address complaints related to insurance and fair dispute resolution, saying that through these frameworks, the regulator aims to reinforce public confidence and promote sustainable development.
