The Non life Insurance Association announced that its Social Contribution Council will allocate approximately KRW1bn ($720,000) to provide temporary housing and a further KRW50m?in relief funds for victims of the recent torrential downpours.
KRW50m will be donated to the Korean Red Cross to support facility repairs in hard-hit areas—including Sancheong (Gyeongnam), Seosan and Dangjin (Chungcheongnam-do), and Gapyeong and Osan (Gyeonggi-do)—as well as to supply daily necessities to displaced residents and secure safe housing for the most vulnerable.
Additionally, plans are underway to provide support for up to 15 ‘Hope Houses’ as temporary housing facilities. This initiative aims to ensure housing stability for disaster victims who have lost their homes, through coordination with the National Disaster Relief Association and local governments.
