Mitsui Bussan Pana Harrison appoints Ben Crookenden as Head of Energy - Specialty Division

Mitsui Bussan Pana Harrison has appointed Ben Crookenden as Head of Energy - Specialty Division. Ben brings over 20 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance broking, with more than 15 years based in Southeast Asia.

Mr Ben is widely recognised for his expertise across energy, power, natural resources, infrastructure and large industrial risks, with a strong track record in structuring and delivering complex facultative and specialty solutions across both first- and third-party placements.

Prior to joining Mitsui Pana, he held senior leadership roles with leading global brokers, most recently as Head of Facultative / Natural Resources Facultative at WTW Asia, where he played a key role in rebuilding and scaling the regional facultative platform. His career also includes senior roles at UIB, Willis and JLT, where he led regional energy and power practices, managed major industrial and infrastructure accounts, and developed long-standing client and market relationships across Asia and globally.

In his new role, Mr Ben will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Energy – Specialty Division across the region
  • Strengthening Mitsui Pana’s capabilities across energy, power, renewables and natural resources
  • Driving strategic growth, technical excellence and market engagement with clients, insurers and reinsurers
