AIA reports strong first-half results, expects to exceed earnings growth target

AIA Group has reported strong financial results for the first six months of 2026, recording double-digit growth across its main financial measures and continued momentum in new business. Value of new business (VONB) rose 10% to $3.21bn, while operating profit after tax (OPAT) increased 13% per share. The insurer also reported a 10% increase in underlying free surplus generation (UFSG) per share. AIA said the results put it on track to exceed its target of 9 to 11% compound annual growth in OPAT per share from 2023 to 2026.
