GAIP forges strategic partnership with Cathay Life

| 10 Sep 2026

The Global Asia Insurance Partnership (GAIP) has announced a strategic partnership with Cathay Life Insurance, which has joined GAIP as a Principal Partner.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening resilience across Asia by addressing protection gaps and emerging risks through collaboration, evidence and practical action. Cathay Life also joins a network of partners consisting of industry players, regulators, academia, insurance associations and international bodies, such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Chinese Taipei Financial Supervisory Commission and World Economic Forum, amongst others.

As a Principal Partner, Cathay Life will have the opportunity to co-shape perspectives on pressing risk challenges facing the region, and engage with GAIP through its working groups, dialogues and collaborative initiatives. This includes access to GAIP research, tools, and workshops to deepen understanding of key and emerging risks, participation in multi-stakeholder dialogue platforms and opportunities to exchange insights.

“Cathay Life’s experience and perspective will further strengthen GAIP’s ability to convene diverse expertise across the region,” said GAIP CEO Min Hung Cheng.

“We look forward to working together on evidence-based frameworks, dialogues and practical actions that help narrow protection gaps and strengthen the resilience of economies and communities across Asia.”

Through this partnership, GAIP and Cathay Life aim to deepen cross-sector knowledge exchange and support practical, evidence-based approaches to the risks affecting people, communities and economies across Asia.
