Peak Re joins Global Asia Insurance Partnership as principal partner

The Global Asia Insurance Partnership (GAIP) announced on 15 October that Peak Re has joined the Asia-focused, neutral tripartite platform as a principal partner, reinforcing its commitment to addressing protection gaps and strengthening resilience against emerging risks across Asia and beyond.

Through this partnership, Peak Re will collaborate with a network of industry players, regulators, academics, insurance associations and international bodies, including the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the World Economic Forum.

Headquartered in Hong Kong, Peak Re is an Asia-based global reinsurer serving 550 cedents across 63 markets. It ranks 28th among reinsurance groups by net reinsurance premiums written. Peak Re aims to create lasting, positive impacts by modernising reinsurance and supporting insurers in addressing the protection needs of middle-class communities in Asia and beyond.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to join GAIP as a Principal Partner. GAIP’s objectives closely align with Peak Re’s commitment to strengthening long-term resilience and helping communities across Asia manage emerging risks. By contributing our reinsurance expertise and regional perspectives, we look forward to working with GAIP and its partners to advance practical solutions that help close Asia’s protection gap,” said Peak Re CEO Victor Kuk.

“Peak Re brings a unique understanding of both local and global insurance markets that will enrich our collective understanding of an increasingly complex risk landscape. Their reinsurance expertise and diverse perspectives complement GAIP’s strengths, and we’re confident that this partnership will generate impactful insights that translate into practical action for the industry and society. We are excited to welcome Peak Re to our growing network of partners and look forward to advancing our shared commitment to building greater resilience across Asia and beyond,” said GAIP CEO Min Hung Cheng.

As a principal partner, Peak Re will contribute to discussions on pressing risk challenges facing the region and engage with GAIP through its working groups, dialogues and collaborative initiatives. These include access to GAIP research, tools and workshops to deepen understanding of key and emerging risks, participation in multi-stakeholder dialogue platforms, and opportunities to exchange insights.
