Sri Lanka to host the 10th Asian Forum of Insurance Regulators (AFIR) in July

The Insurance Board of Sri Lanka (IBSL) will be hosting the 10th Asian Forum of Insurance Regulators (AFIR) meeting in Colombo on 27-28 July 2015. The theme of the meeting will be “Changing Landscape in Insurance Regulations”. The meeting will be held at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The two-day event has been scheduled to cover informative sessions on IAIS’s role in promoting Insurance Capital Standards (ICS); sharing experience on new capital regimes; sharing experience in developing microinsurance regulatory framework; an ADB high-level round table on self-assessment and peer review of Insurance Core Principles (ICPs); and a panel discussion on developing a common regulatory framework for inclusive insurance and way forward for AFIR, which are important topics of common interests to insurance regulators.
Following the AFIR meeting, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will conduct a workshop from 29-30 July 2015 at the same venue on the thematic topic of solvency, which covers the relevant ICPs.
