CII and IFC join forces to address protection gap for women

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together to help women reduce protection gap, increase risk awareness, and gain better access to insurance.
 
   CII and IFC said in a press release that they will focus on gathering different stakeholders within the insurance profession to facilitate knowledge sharing and innovation to better address the needs of women, and create better protection solutions for women consumers. 
 
   The organisations noted that women’s financial risks are increasing but “access to and engagement with insurance remains limited both in mature and emerging markets”.
 
   Collaborations will be through CII’s “Insuring Women’s Futures” initiative and the IFC’s programmes on developing women’s insurance in emerging markets. A
