China:Gov't urges provinces to buy health covers for farmers

Provinces will now have to provide commercial health insurance for farmers if existing health insurance schemes do not cover all of their medical expenses, reports the China Daily. Announced by Health Minister Chen Zhu last week, the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme is the latest measure to help rural residents cope with some chronic diseases.
