India:Regulator acts to increase motor insurance take-up

The insurance regulator IRDAI and General Insurance Corporation (GIC Re) will formulate a policy, which will make it mandatory for everyone buying a new vehicle to buy third-party liability insurance cover for three and five years for cars and two-wheelers respectively, at the time of vehicle registration.
