Australia: Broker urges review of people risk strategies

Howden Insurance Brokers (Australia) says that with the general rate of illness and injury continuing to trend upwards, hybrid working arrangements here to stay, fractured and complex insurance markets and a societal shift in benefit expectations having occurred, there has never been a more challenging or opportune time for organisations to review their people strategies and take an holistic approach to the way they manage the risk and benefits of their key asset, their people.
 
Howden says this in its report ‘People Risk Market Outlook 2022’, detailing changes and trends in the Australian insurance market. The report provides organisations with deep insights into the state of the insurance market for Workers’ Compensation and Salary Continuance Insurance.
 
There has already been a shift in health focus from treatment to prevention that will accelerate over the next two years, and workplaces will need to be ready for aspects of care to cross the line between work and life. Coupled with the move to a preventative care model will be the rise of a more integrated health framework that is focused on delivering the right care at the right time. A
