Typhoon Morakot was the deadliest typhoon to impact Taiwan in recorded history. Not only did it wreak havoc in Taiwan, Morakot also caused disasters in China, Japan and in the Philippines. We look at the catastrophic damage it caused, how it affected the insurance industry and the Taiwanese government, and how the situation could have been alleviated.
