Typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions afflict the Philippines and the country suffers from total economic losses not to mention the losses of lives as a result of these events. Mr Roberto B Crisol, President & CEO of the National Reinsurance Corporation of the Philippines, looks at the underwriting of natural perils and says that the industry needs to get the premium rates up again as well as to work closely with the government to ensure that the country is fully prepared for the aftermath of such events.
