Since the outcome of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, laws in Australia to compensate victims have changed dramatically. The introduction of a national redress scheme (NRS) have made it easier for most insurance claimants to receive some compensation in the form of a recognition payment according to Carroll & O'Dea special counsel Bill Madden who will be addressing this issue at the Australian Insurance Law Association's (AILA) national conference later this year.
