More cyclones in 2H2019 raise CAT losses to at least $50bn


Tropical cyclone activity in the second half of 2019 pushed overall insurance losses higher after a benign first-half of the year, revealed preliminary sigma report estimates from Swiss Re Institute which noted $50bn insured losses from natural catastrophes.
