The Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC) has appointed Mr Cameron Hick as its next Chief Underwriting Officer.
Mr Hick has commenced as Chief Underwriting Officer Designate, and will work closely with current Chief Underwriting Officer, Mr Michael Pennell to ensure an orderly transition.
He has said that in his new role, he will focus on further strengthening ARPC’s capability, working closely with insurers and ensuring the terrorism and cyclone pools remain efficient and effective.
Mr Hick brings almost 30 years of experience in the global reinsurance market and has held leadership positions across underwriting, client management, broking and portfolio strategy. Since joining ARPC in July 2024, he has led technical underwriting across the terrorism and cyclone pools. His previous experience includes roles with Munich Re, PartnerRe and reinsurance broking positions with Willis Re, Gallagher Re and Aon.
Mr Hick will succeed Mr Pennell, who will commence leave on 14 September 2026 before retiring on 27 November 2026.
