Malaysia:Regulator launches new insurance platform for persons with disabilities

| 27 Oct 2026

The Malaysian insurance regulator, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has launched a new insurance platform for persons with disabilities in the country.

Persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the country can now explore insurance and takaful options through the MyCoverageOKU platform. This new platform brings together information on relevant products for PWDs, which their families and caregivers can review and take decisions on the appropriate coverage and contact providers.

MyCoverageOKU has been developed jointly by BNM, the Financial Education Network and the insurance and takaful industry and serves as a central reference point for users. The eligibility and benefits remain subject to each product’s terms and conditions.

The platform has been developed in accordance with the web content accessibility guidelines, and features various accessibility functions, like adjustable text sizes, high-contrast display settings and simplified navigation to provide a user-friendly digital experience, particularly for individuals with different accessibility needs.
Through the list of products available on the platform, users can decide on the coverage available, understand product benefits and check eligibility requirements.
