Zurich Insurance Group has appointed Ms Megan Shao as chief claims officer, APAC, effective 1 February 2026.
In her new role, Ms Shao will lead Zurich’s claims function across APAC, driving the development and execution of claims strategies to ensure efficient handling and exceptional customer service across all lines of business in the region. She will also work closely with claims teams across APAC to advance Zurich’s claims strategy, enhance customer relationships and ensure operational excellence.
Ms Shao brings more than 17 years of experience in claims management. Prior to her new role, she served as head of financial lines and casualty claims, APAC with Zurich Insurance. She rejoins from AXA XL.
Fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese, Ms Shao brings a global perspective and a passion for developing talent, supporting business growth and delivering customer-centric solutions. She is a graduate of Boston University School of Law and the Chinese Culture University in Taipei.
