The Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) has appointed Dr Ghiath Shabsigh as its fourth secretary-general. His appointment was endorsed by the council of the IFSB in 2023. He succeeds Dr Bello Danbatta. In his new role, he will solidify IFSB's role as a standard-setting body.
