AXA China Region Insurance (Bermuda) has entered into a cooperation agreement with Hainan Boao Lecheng administration to jointly explore innovative medical insurance models and leverage the top-tier medical resources.

The Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone was established in 2013 with the approval of China’s State Council, and enjoys preferential treatment for licensed medical services, operations, research, and international collaboration. The Lecheng Administration has become a hub for leading medical institutions, specialist expertise, and advanced treatment protocols, including rare disease therapies, cutting-edge cancer treatments, and innovative pharmaceuticals and devices.

Within the Pilot Zone, AXA is also working with China Biotech Services Holdings to bring Boron Neutron Capture Therapy, which is an advanced cancer treatment to China. This initiative aligns with AXA’s objective of integrating next-generation medical technologies into its insurance portfolio, offering patients more diverse and effective treatment options.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding to jointly explore and develop Boron  Neutron Capture Therapy and related services, included AXA China Region Insurance (Bermuda), AXA International Reinsurance (Shanghai), together with China Biotech Services Holdings, Qianhai Reinsurance Company, and Gallagher  Insurance Brokers (Hong Kong).
